Woonsocket ? Jeannette Bessette
JEANNETTE BESSETTE, 87, of 2515 Diamond Hill Rd., a textile worker for the former French Worsted Co. for 50 years before retiring, died Sunday at the Landmark Medical Center-Woonsocket Unit. She was the widow of Albert Bessette.
Born in St. Philomene, Quebec, a daughter of the late Achille and Albertine (Laliberte) Poisson, she lived in Woonsocket most of her life.
Mrs. Bessette was a 25-year member of the RSVP. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, and a member of the St. Louis Senior Citizen Club.
She leaves a son, Bertrand Bessette with whom she lived, and a daughter, Diane Blanchette of Woonsocket; a brother, Albert Poisson of Bellingham, Mass.; six sisters, Bertha Plouffe, Germaine Laferte, Irene Lapierre, Mary-Anna Theroux, Lillian Gelinas and Laurette Hetu, all of Woonsocket; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Claire Verville.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from Menard's Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Avenue, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Louis Church, Rathbun Street. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, South Belingham.
