Mariette T. Bessette
BLACKSTONE - Mariette T. (Larose) Bessette, 85, of Blackstone, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 in her home. She was the wife of the late Henry M. Bessette. Born in St. Cesaire, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Fabiana (Fregeau) Larose.
Mrs. Bessette worked at Tupperware, General Electric and Telechron prior to retirement. She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church and volunteered at Mt. St. Charles Academy in the Alumni Office for the past ten years.
She leaves her daughter, Lynne Bessette and her husband Larry Martinez of Arvada, CO; her grandson, Zachary Martinez; three brothers and their wives, Pierre and Agathe, Jacques and Ginette, and Daniel and Nicole Larose all of Longueuil, Quebec; her sister and her husband, Claire and Claude Davignon of St. Cesaire, Quebec; and two brothers-in-law and their wives, Charles and Jackie Bessette of Blackstone and Maurice and Muriel Bessette of Rumford. She was the sister of the late Henri-Paul and Roland Larose and Fabienne Bisson; and the sister-in-law of the late Rolande Smith and Pauline Rabideau.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. St. Charles Academy, 800 Logee St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
