Patricia Joann Bassett, 86, of Bellevue, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at The Flower House in Nashville, Michigan.
Patricia was born on June 19, 1933 to Clyde and Freda (Keeler) Ellis in Battle Creek. She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School.
She married Donald Bassett on March 9, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2006. Patricia worked as a cook at Pennfield School District for over 20 years.
Patricia was active in the Barry County 4-H Clubs and she enjoyed horses, crocheting, reading and traveling but she especially loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Mark (Nancy) Bassett of Bellevue and Jeanette Graham of Bellevue, her 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her son; Daniel and her brothers; Clyde Slim Ellis Jr. and Jack Ellis, her sister in law; Bonnie Ellis and her son in law, Paul Graham.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 205 N. Elizabeth St. Bellevue, Michigan 49021. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no more than 10 people will be allowed into the funeral home at one time and please follow the social distancing rules of staying 6 feet apart and do not hug or shake hands. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Ellis Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bellevue Fire Department.
