Bass, 71, born January 20, 1930 in St. Cloud, Florida, died July 15, 2001 at his residence in Route 1, Nahunta.He was the son of the late Alexander Bass and Eva Miller Bass and had been in the U.S. Army. He was a logger. He was a member and deacon of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church.Survivors are his wife, Virginia Manning Bass; a daughter, Sonya Jo Jacobs of Nahunta; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Bass (wife Barbara) of Nahunta, and Scott Bass (wife Gina) of Rincon; six grandchildren, Daryl and Derek Jacobs, Carla, Kevin, Sarah, and Rachel Bass; three sisters, Shirley Johnson of Orlando, Florida, Sadie Dailey of Paragauld, Arkansas, and Erma Watson of Kissimmee, Florida.Services were held at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.Reverends Randy Wainright, Wayne Manning, and Buddy Allen officiated at the service with Scott Bass delivering the eulogy.Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
