Earl J. Bemisses Are Honored on 25th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Bemiss of 401 Pomeroy Avenue were entertained on their 25th wedding anniversary at a week-end house party for 20 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Brewer of Burlington, Vt., formerly of Pittsfield. Mr. and Mrs. Bemiss were presented a gift of silver at the anniversary dinner Saturday. night.
Mrs. Bemiss is the former Miss Helen Bassett of this city. Mr. Bemiss, a native of Red Rock, N.Y., has lived in Pittsfield 28 years. The couple were married at the home of Mrs. Bemiss? parents by Rev. Vincent G. Burns, then pastor of the South Congregational Church. They have two daughters, Nancy, a student at Connecticut College, and Bonnie, a student at Dawes School.
The couple are members of the South Congregational Church. Mr. Bemiss is a member of the corporation of Brewer Brothers Inc. and manager of the Pittsfield, North Adams, Canaan, Conn., and Burlington, Vt., territory. He is a member of the Rotary Club and a director of the New England Automobile Association.
