      Titus Bassett was born in New Haven, Conn., in 1781, and in 1804 removed to Adams, where he died in 1867. He married Sarah, daughter of Nathaniel Warriner, and their children were Harvey, Marvin, Marvin, 2nd, of Oswego, and Laura of Adams. Harvey Bassett was born in Adams in 1819, and here learned the hatters' trade. He married Jane, daughter of Abram and Leah (Van Buskirk) Ouderkirk in 1843, by whom he had a daughter, Sarah Jane, who was born in 1842 and died in 1964, and a son, Daniel D., who was born in 1844. He died in 1956. Daniel D., who learned the printers' trade, served in the First N.Y. Vet. Cav. until the close of the war. He married Angerase, daughter of John and Mary (McGovern) Foley, of Ellisburgh, in 1866, by whom he had had a son and a daughter, viz: Lena R., who died February 14, 1883, aged 15 years, and Floyd H., born May 4, 1873. Mr. Bassett is foreman of the Journal printing office in Adams village, and resides on Clay street.

      Donald D. Bassett
      Donald D. Bassett, 75, just re-elected commander of DeAlton Cooper post of the G.A.R., died at his home in Clay street, Adams at 7:45 o'clock Saturday morning, Dec. 20.
      At 18, he enlisted in Company L., 1st New York Veteran Calvary, and served three years in the Union forces. He was buried Monday in Elmwood cemetert, Adams.
      Mr. Bassett's pastor, the Rev. Frank Harwood of the Baptist church officiated at the funeral, Mrs. Angie Foley Bassett of Adams, the commander's wife, and his son Floyd H. Bassett of Watertown, are his survivors.

      Mrs. Angierose Bassett
      Mrs. Angierose Bassett, 85, widow of Daniel Bassett, died at her home in Adams, Friday. Her husband, a Civil War veteran, has been dead eleven years.
      She was a native of Smith Falls, Ontario. She had been a resident of Adams for many years. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic church and the Woman's Relief Corps of Adams.
      Surviving are a son, Floyd H. Bassett, 928 Boyd Street, Watertown; four sisters, Mrs. John Brewer of Adams; Mrs. Delia Duell, Mrs. Ellen Ouderkirk and Mrs. Hattie Culver, all of Greeley, Col., one brother, John Foley of Utica, and a granddaughter, Miss Clara Bassett, Watertown.
