Guy W. Bassett Jr.
Guy W. Bassett Jr., 86, died August 25, 2006, at Life Care Center of Palm Bay. He was born in Philadelphia, and lived in Barefoot Bay for three years, coming from Sebastian. He was the superintendent of maintenance at a nursing home. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 10210, Sebastian, and a life member of the VFW in Collingdale, Pennsylvania. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Vivian Bassett of Barefoot Bay; daughters, Vivian Wentzel of Sebastian, and Sharon Lorefice, of Thornton, Pennsylvania; brother, Louis Bassett of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Brevard County Alzheimer's, Joe's Club South, 7951 Ron Beatty Blvd., Barefoot Bay, Florida 32976. Services: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. August 29 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, with Ronald Thomas Sr. officiating. Military honors will follow by the Sebastian River Area Veterans' Honor Guard.

Louis F. Bassett, 86, of Breinigsville, died Saturday, February 16, 2008. He was the husband of Marie A. (Sandy) Bassett. They were married 59 years in July. He was a son of the late Guy and Lou (Foxwell) Bassett. He first worked for DuPont, and later became an owner, with his father and brother, of Philadelphia Ball and Roller Bearing Company, from 1948-1968.
