He retired from Schroeder's Wholesale as a salesman and had been working part-time at Wal-Mart as a greeter. He enjoyed fishing.Surviving are three daughters, Deborah Parker and Dee Ann Bass, both of Evansville, and Donnetta Powers of Lewisport, Kentucky; three sons, James H. Jr. of Noblesville, Indiana, William of Evansville and Brian of Westfield, Indiana; a brother, Clifton of Cynthiana, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Amy, Eric, Phillip and Amanda Bass, Chris Parker, Sarah Bayer and Melissa Casey; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Reverend Mike Rittichier officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
