The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 today at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the College Street Church of God, 2693 College St., Newberry 29108. Mr. Bass died Friday, May 7, 1999 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Readen Bass and Arrie Kitchens Bass Reynolds. He was a retired employee of Kendall Co., Mollohon Plant and a carpenter. Mr. Bass was a member of College Street Church of God where he served as a Sunday school Superintendent and taught the Men's Bible Class. He was married to the late Frances Davis Bass. Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine B. Ellis of Newberry; son, Stephen E. Bass of Newberry; sister, Jamie Price of Camden; brothers, Lewis Bass of Waterloo and Lee Bass of Camden; three grandchildren.
