Cumberlink Sentinel, 1 Apr 2007 Kenneth "Kacy" Bassett, 1914-2007 (picture included) Kenneth "Kacy" Bassett, 93, formerly of Bucks County, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community. Born Feb. 23, 1914, in Mechanicsville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Lila Vance and Frederick M. Bassett and brother of the late Donald V. Bassett of Troy, N.Y. He was predeceased by Johanna Osl, his wife of 61 years. He was also predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Clay Bassett and grandson, Douglas A. Stilson. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann "Bobbi" Bassett (husband, Arthur Stilson) and a son, Charles K. Bassett, of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Douglas C. Stilson (wife, Jayne) of Carmel, Ind., Joanne L. Fortney (husband, David) and Christa Bassett Hess (husband, Eric) of Mechanicsburg, and Chad A. Bassett of Carlisle; and six great-grandchildren. "Kacy" retired from General Electric Co., Missile and Space Division, as manager, compenent test with 33 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 2 Forge Road, Boiling Springs, with the Rev. Judy Welles officiating. A reception in the social hall will follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Bosler Free Library, 158 W. High St., Carlisle, PA 17013. Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Carlisle, is handling arrangements.
