Doreen Mr. Erskine Bassett, who celebrated his 73rd birth on Cup Day, is seriously ill in Epworth Hospital. His son, Mr. Keith Bassett, has come from Timboon to visit his father. Mr. Bassett was formerly one of the stalwarts of the Doreen Cricket Club. Eltham and Whittlesea Shires Advertiser, Victoria, Australia Friday, 31 January 1941 Mr. Erskine Bassett After an illness which lasted for months, Mr. Erskine Bassett passed away at Epworth Private Hospital on Tuesday night. He was a resident of Doreen. His wife predeceased him by some years and since then his sister, Miss Ellen Bassett, has kept house for him. He is survived by his son, Mr. Keith Bassett of Timboon. The funeral, which was very well attended, took place at the Whittlesea Cemetery on Saturday. The Rev. A. T. Roberts conducted the funeral service.
