She was born May 5, 1917, in Alcorn County to James and Verdie Bass. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Overton Hill Church with the Rev. Travis Shea and the Rev. Kenneth Drewery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Faye Nails and Shirley Rowland (James); three sons, Jack Bass (Vernall), James Bass (Mary) and Terry Bass (Sue) of Walnut; a daughter-in-law, Edith Bass of Corinth; grandchildren, Greg Rowland (Tammy), Rita Wilbanks (Johnny), Johnny Nails (Kathy), Becky Nails, Lisa Nails, Teresa Nails, Jason Bass (Melody), Robin Bass, Terry Bass Jr., Billy Bass, Diane Baldwyn (Bob); 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzie Bass; a son, Ray Bass; a son-in-law, Tommy Nails; a brother, Haig Bass; and a sister, Tootsie Swindle. Pallbearers will be Johnny Nails, Tommy Nails, Heath Nails, Nick Gunn, Billy Bass, Shane Voyles and Greg Rowland. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Overton Hill Church and continue until service time.
