Cleo Drumright
Cleo Drumright, 87, of Springfield, formerly of Marshfield, passed away at 2:03 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, in the Maranatha Village, Springfield.
Cleo was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Webster County to Wallace and Maggie Bass. She graduated from Marshfield High School and attended the Missouri Teachers College. She was united in marriage in August 1947 to Darel Drumright. After Cleo retired from teaching, she and Darel owned and operated Drumright Hardware in Marshfield. Cleo loved to play golf and was a member of the Marshfield Country Club and the Marshfield First Baptist Church.
Cleo loved spending time with her friends. Thursday coffee with the "girls" was an activity she enjoyed in her later years. For the last two and a half years, Cleo lived with her sister-in-law, Ruby Bass, enjoying the time that got to spend with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darel, in 1994; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert Lloyd and Maude Drumright; her brothers, Guy, Jesse and Don Bass, Mack Bass and his wife, Dorothy, and Alva Bass and his wife, Blanche; and a brother-in-law, Lynn Conrad.
Survivors include sister-in-laws, Ruby, Laveeda and Blanche Bass, Judy Flacke and her husband, Don and Dortha Conrad; nieces and nephews, J.R. Bass, Retha Bass, Johnny Bass, Janis Ward, Vickie Kerns, Steve Bass, Susie Ferguson, Jim Bass, Mark Bass, Mike and Jenni Flacke, Carol Stall and Janis Trebby; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many, many good friends.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in the Marshfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Gerri Comstock officiating.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield.
