He was the husband of Elaine M. (Johnson) Bassett for 40 years. Born in Providence, son of the late George A. and Agens (Dewey) Bassett. He has lived in Rehoboth 12 yaers and previously living in Warwick. He and his wife owned the Country Inn in Warren until 2000. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter Denise M. Motta and her husband Joe of Seekonk, a son William D. and his wife Elizabeth (LaRoche) Bassett of Riveside. Two sisters, Ann Steger and Carol Lackey both of Warwick. Two brothers George 'Buddy' Bassett of Warwick and Ronald Bassett of Deerfield Beach, FL. 3 grandchildren Shane Donahue and Gabrielle Motta of Seekonk and Bethany Bassett of Riverside. He was the father of the late Branda Ann Bassett and brother of the late Robert Bassett. His funeral and burial will be PRIVATE. Arrangements by REBELLO FUNERAL HOME.
