Miss Bassett Wed At M.E. Parsonage

Miss Alice Bassett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bassett of Ironwood, and Lawrence Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Barrett of Flint, were married at 10:30 this morning at a simple ceremony performed at the parsonage of the First Methodist church. The Rev. Walter Firth officiated and the bride?s father gave her in marriage.
The bride and her attendants were attired in shades of blue and white. The bridal gown was of chiffon crepe in powder blue. Her picture hat and accessories were white and she carried a bouquet of lilies and roses. Miss Elsie Peterson, bridesmaid, and Miss Audrey Bassett, attendant, also wore blue dresses, white accessories and shoulder corsages that matched the bride?s bouquet. Thomas Bassett Jr. acted as best man and Wilbur Marshall attended the groom.
Twenty guests were invited to attend the reception at the home of the bride and 50 friends will be served at a supper to be given this evening.
Mr. Barrett is employed as a truck driver at Flint, and Mrs. Barrett has been employed at the Kresge Dollar store for the last five years. The couple will leave tomorrow for Flint where they will make their home.
Out of town guests who are here for the wedding include Mr. and Mrs. Howard Best and son, Howard, of Duluth.
