Mrs. Thomas Q. Bassett
Mrs. Thomas Q. Bassett, 78, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Mattson, 820 Wilcox Street, Flint. She formerly resided at 229 E. Arch Street.
She was born Oct. 23, 1882 at St. Ives, Cornwall, England. On coming to the United States she first settled in the Copper Country, and later she and her husband moved to a farm in Minnesota before coming to Ironwood. Mr. Bassett died July 2, 1955, and one son was killed May 27, 1945 in World War II.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Wilfred Mattson, Flint; Mrs. Forrest Dykeman, Milwaukee, Mrs. Lawrence Barrett, Flint, and Mrs. Wylie Wilcox, Silver Spring, Md.; two sons, Thomas Jr., Ironwood, and John Leslie, East Lansing; one sister, Mrs. Osborne, Canada; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the Wesley Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald C. Porteous officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery. The Chappell-Zielinski Funeral Home will be open Sunday afternoon and evening beginning at 2.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Q. Bassett, 78, who died Thursday, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wesley Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald C. Porteous officiating. Entombment was at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Liimakka, Maurice Bennett, Ralph Bohne, William Kallos, Edward Tousignant and Donald Birch.

Bassett, East Lansing, Calvin Dykeman, Mrs. Ron Sprenger, Karen Dykeman, Mrs. John Hajek and Miss Linda Matteson, Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Marshall, Hibbing.
