Two Brothers Claimed By Death Same Day
Calvin and Charles Bassett, Aged 5 and 3, Expired Yesterday
Death cast a double sorrow in the household of Mr. and Mrs. N.O. Bassett yesterday, carrying away the only two children, Calvin and Charles R., in within one hour of each other.
Calvin, who was only 5 years old, died at 2:30 o’clock, after being confined to his bed only three days, with an affliction of the stomach.
One hour and ten minutes later, without knowing that his brother had died, Charles, 8 years old, joined his younger brother and companion in the great beyond.
The older boy had been ill with pneumonia for nearly three weeks, during which time his younger brother, to whom he was greatly attached, remained constantly at his bedside, until placed in another bed three days ago, with the disease that caused his death.
Charlie was in the first grade at Alexander School, and was well thought of by teacher an pupils.
The funeral will be held at the residence, 453 Oak street, tomorrow morning, the time to be announced later.

Bassett
There was sorrow in the home of Mr. and Mrs. N.O. Bassett yesterday, the funeral of their two little sons, Calvin and Charles R., both of whom died Saturday, being held from the family residence, 453 Oak street, Sunday morning at 10 o’clock. It was a double service, the two little forms resting peacefully in separate caskets and were conveyed to the cemetery in separate hearses.
Rev. John M. Hudson, pastor of the Belevue Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. J.H. Skelton, conducted the services, the interment being made in Cedar Ridge Cemetery.
