Jack C. Bassett
Jack Clark Bassett, 92, an 82-year resident of Roseville, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Bon Secours Hospital, Grosse Pointe. He was born May 12, 1913, in London, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Bassett retired as a life insurance salesman. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 2358. He was also a member of Erin Presbyterian Church for 76 years, where he was a former elder and deacon and a member of the choir. He enjoyed bowling and golf. He married Edna on Sept. 25, 1943, in Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; children, Jackie (Ronald) Fritts; grandchildren, Scott (Mary) Fritts and Steven (Cheri) Fritts; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Johnathan, Michael and Zachery.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Erin United Presbyterian Church, 30000 Gratiot Ave., Roseville, with the Rev. Dr. G. Patrick Thompson officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation is 2:30-9 p.m. Friday at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville. Additional visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
