      Christine ?Mama Bass? Bass

      Christine "Mama Bass" Bass, 60, passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by family after a long battle with lung cancer.

      Christine was born Aug. 23, 1964, in Washington, D.C., and lived in Prince George's County, Maryland, until 2000 when she moved to Greeneville.

      Christine was a loving, care free woman; a true free spirit with a heart of gold. To know her was to love her. She never knew a stranger. She took in so many and loved them as her own; never judging and always finding the good or positive to put a smile on your face. The let it ride kind of person and the real life of the party. She was always there to listen, talk, or give advice. She spent her life raising kids, caring for her husband and living in the moment. Time took her to soon; she was loved and will be missed by many.

      Survivors include her parents: Mary (Bo) Martin; a sister: Brenda (Dave) Sosebee; brothers: Tommy and Jason Martin; her children: Michele Cedillo and Samuel Bass Jr.; her bonus children: Gerardo Cedillo, Crystal (Antwan) Alexander, Bruce Oakley, Jonathan (Amber) Oakley, Nashala (Mike) Livingston, James, Patrick, and Allen Flannery, C.W. Moorman, and Tonya Morales; grandchildren: Kaila Coffey, Kortni (Cory) Coffey, Hailey Grace Bass, Emely Cedillo, Story Talbert, Mia Gibson, Maximo Cedillo, and Marley Van Jones; her first born great-grandchild: Keilynn Johnson; special friends: Andrew Guilmette, Natasha Morgan, and Danielle Taylor; and several others close to her whom she loved and cherished.

      She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Anthony and Mary Ellen Christiani; husband: Samuel Bass Sr.; son: Jonathan Coffey; and her mother-in-law: Ovella Ruth Johnson.

      The Bass family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

      Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Mark Laughlin officiating.

      Interment will follow at Brown Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

      Pallbearers will include James, Allen and Patrick Flannery, Jonathan Oakley, Samuel Bass Jr., and C.W. Moorman.
