Irene M. Bessette
Irene M. Bessette December 28, 1925 - March 17, 2013 Danielson - Irene M. Bessette, 87, of Danielson, died Sunday at Regency Heights of Danielson. She was the wife of the late Gerald Bessette. Mr. Bessette died in June of 1999. Mrs. Bessette was born in Plainfield on December 28, 1925, daughter of the late Victor and Anna (Dessert) Stringer. She worked at numerous mills including InterRoyal, and Arrow-Hart and was last employed at Moldex. She is survived by daughters, Elaine Verraneault and husband Lawrence of Myrtle Beach, SC, Janet King and husband Charles of Danielson and Debra Waterman and husband Russell of Danielson; brother, John Stringer of Plainfield; grandchildren, Renee Meduna, Scott Verraneault, Terri Churchill, Sherry King, Christopher Harding and Ronald Harding; several great grandchildren including Courtney and Ryan Churchill, Jake Meduna, Austin and Andrew Verraneault and Brendan, Austin and Gavin Harding. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, special buddy Thomas Desjardin, sisters-in-law, Claire, Jessie, Theresa and Helen; special people, Ken, Michelle, Ann, Wayne, Jeannie, Mark, Denise, Eileen, Rose and Howard. She was predeceased by her sister Alice, brothers Clifford and Lawrence and stepmother Rose (Belisle) Stringer. The family would like to thank Day Kimball Hospital and Backus Hospital staffs, the terrific staff at Regency Heights of Danielson, Hospice of Northeastern CT and Dr. Jane Doyle. A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 P.M. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Northeastern CT, P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260 or St. James School, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT 06239. Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson is in charge of arrangements.
