W.N. Bassett
Services for W.N. "Bill" Bassett were held Friday, April 22, 2005, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. The Rev. Hugh Martin officiated. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
Mr. Bassett, 88, died Monday, April 18, 2005, in Spring Branch Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
He was a longtime resident of the Linwood community of Neshoba County. He operated, with his wife, Bassett Grocery in Philadelphia for several years and operated Billups Service Station while residing in Columbus.
Mr. Bassett was a member of Linwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ruth Bassett in February 2005; and a daughter, Edwina Bassett.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Barnhill of Philadelphia and Barbara Adair of Houston, Texas; one son, William C. Bassett of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Keith Lillis, Joe Bassett, Wayne Crowson, L.P. Bassett, Larry Adair and Mark Brasher.
