Born June 16, 1927, in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Josephat and Marie-Anne Bessette. He had worked in the building department of Bank of Boston for 13 years, retiring in 1992. He previously had worked for Draper Corp. in Hopedale, Mass., for 23 years. He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Blackstone. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Lynne Bessette of Arvada, Colo.; two brothers, Charles Bessette of Blackstone and Maurice Bessette of Rumford; two sisters, Rollande Smith of Lincoln and Pauline Rabideau of Harrisville; and a grandson.
