Victor Bassett
Yale resident Victor Thomas Bassett, 66, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lawson Cemetery, north of Yale. Pastor John Curtis will preside. Yale-Palmer Funeral Home is directing arrangements. Bassett was born in Lake Mills, Iowa, on May 4, 1935, to Percy Lawrence and Lila G. (Kvale) Bassett.
He received his early education in Lake Mills and while in school was active in sports. He was married to Patricia Wolters. He played semi-pro baseball with the Chicago Cubs and was a rancher and investment banker. He was predeceased by his father. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Bassett and his wife Jeri Dee of Broken Arrow, Scott Bassett and his wife Lesa of Tulsa and Lonnie Bassett and his wife Jessica of Bogata Texas; a sister, Sharlene Lowe and her husband Darrell of Yale; his mother of Yale; eight grandchildren, Jeffery, Michael, Tyler, Nathan, Cynthia, Jessica, Monica and Erin; one great-granddaughter, Baylee Renee Bassett; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
