Born in Hartsville, he was a son of the late James Edward and Allene Chapman Bass. He had served as a MP in the U. S. Army and was retired from Fluor-Daniel Construction Co. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Traci Bass of Muskogee, Okla.; daughters and son-in-law, Dawn and Eldwin Bryant of Kinta, Okla., Gena Bass of Muskogee, Okla.; sister, Patsy Newsom of Newport, Tenn.; grandchildren, Ashley Nicholson, Shawn Bass, Seth Bryant, Kaden Bass; greatgrandchild, Brandon Nicholson.
