Elsie ?Louise? Bassett, 72, of Bluefield, WV, passed Monday, December 18, 2023, at her home.
Born January 3, 1951, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy Bogle Harman Jr. Elsie was a resident of Bluefield for 18 years and worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Gospel Hall Church of Double Gates.
In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bowman; second husband, William Bassett; brother, John M. Harman III; and nephew, John M. Harman IV.
Those left to cherish Elsie?s memory are her sons, Shannon Bowman of Bluefield, WV, Keith Bowman and wife Stacy of WA, and Brian Bowman and wife Ginger of NC; niece and nephew, Tonya and Larry of Glenwood, WV; 10 grandchildren, Kathleen, Tyler, Christopher, Brian, Andrew, Kim, Noah, Hayden, James, and Amber; three great grandchildren, Gary, Brandon, and Oliver; hospice caretakers, Emma, Leanne, Nancy and Heather; and volunteers, Sherman, Carol, James and Nancy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home.
