Mrs. Clifton Bassett
Greenfield - Mrs. Edith C. (Roswarne) Bassett, 68, of 161 Silver Street, died Monday in Farren Memorial Hospital, Montague. Born in Orange the daughter of William and Louise (Gallagher) Roswarne, she was a retired telephone operator and a member of Telephone Pioneers. Besides her husband Clifton, she leaves two sons John and Paul, both of Turners Falls, a daughter, Mrs. Willett A. Forbes of Greenfield, three brothers, Bernard Rosewarne of Gill, Kenneth Rosewarne of Turners Falls, and Francis Rosewarne of Greenfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Wesley Dame of Greenfield and Mrs. Francis Remillard of Gill. The funeral will be Wednesday in McCarthy funeral home followed by a liturgy of Christian burial in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery in Turners Falls. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund, care of Ralph Bassett, Greenfield Co-operative Bank.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 8.30 in McCarthy funeral home, followed by liturgy of Christian burial at 9 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be Tuesday in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Turners Falls. Calling hours will be Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Heart Fund, care of Ralph Bassett, Greenfield Co-operative Bank.
