He reenlisted Feb. 19, 1864, and served until the close of the war. He last resided in Hampstead, N.H.

Charles Bassett was a native of Pittsfield, born about 1845, a son of Samuel and Sarah (Cram) Bassett. In 1862 he enlisted as a recruit for the Second New Hampshire volunteers, and was mustered into Company B September 10, and became one of the best soldiers in that famous company. He reenlisted February 19, 1864, and served until the close of the war. He now resides at Hampstead, N.H.
