  Notes	Watertown Daily Times, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 Beverly P. Bassett Funeral services for 89-year old Mrs. Beverly P. Bassett of Dickinson Center, NY will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at the St. Regis Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Boehm Pastor of the Lisbon Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Dickinson Center, NY. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Regis Falls, or to the Dickinson Volunteer Fire Dept. Mrs. Bassett died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, NY. She was born in Norfolk, NY February 2, 1922 the daughter of Leslie H. and Jessie (Crabbe) Pickering. Beverly graduated from Brushton High School in 1940. She married Herbert L. Bassett on June 23, 1949 at Brushton Methodist Church with Rev. Louis McConnell officiating. Mr. Bassett died May 16, 1970. She and her husband and son Keith, moved from Brushton to Dickinson Center in 1954. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked for the Town of Dickinson as an Election Inspector for ten years. Survivors include two sons, Keith and his wife Sharon Bassett of Waddington, Philip Bassett and his companion, Kathy Woodward of Dickinson Center, three grandchildren three great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents and her husband, Beverly was predeceased by a brother Douglas M. Pickering who died November 15, 1988, and two sisters, Dorothy Denton Thweath who died September 19, 1999, and Evalena P. Durant who died March 4, 2005. Mrs. Bassett was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Regis Falls and the United Methodist Women, a former member of Brushton Methodist Church, a former member of Dickinson Methodist Church, and a former member of the Dickinson Center WCTU. While a member of the Brushton Methodist Church she taught Berean Sunday School Class. Mrs. Bassett kept diaries from 1937 to 2007.
