Last Rites For Charles Bassett
Funeral services for Charles Bassett were held yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Hanson funeral home, the Rev. Maurice Jones of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Mrs. William Morse was at the organ.
Burial was made in the Walnut Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chester Stone, Edward Peters, Ernest Zantow, Bruce Frenz, Raymond Krcdy and Herbert Crane.

Chas. Bassett Dies Suddenly
Charles E. Bassett, aged 60 years, passed away suddenly in a doctor?s office on Sunday afternoon. A lifelong resident of Sauk county, he was a member of the Baraboo police force for many years and more recently, police radio operator.
Surviving Mr. Bassett are his wife, two sons, Melvin of Baraboo and Eugene of Evergreen, Colo., two sisters, Mrs. Bevelyn Holmes of Baraboo, and Mrs. John Eitel of Waukesha, two brothers, E.K. Bassett and Hollis Bassett of Baraboo.
Funeral services for Mr. Bassett will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Hanson funeral home, with the Rev. Maurice E. Jones of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Friends wishing may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 5 in the afternoon and in the evening from 7 to 9. Burial will be made in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
