Marjorie Lenora Rhodes Bass
Lumberton, NC-.Marjorie Lenora Rhodes Bass, age 82, wife of the late Bobby Paul Bass, of Fayetteville Road, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.
Mrs. Bass was born in Robeson County, a daughter of the late John B. Rhodes, Sr. and Sallie Ivey Rhodes. She was a graduate of Orrum High School. Mrs. Bass was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church of Lumberton, NC. She and her husband were the former owners and operators of The Live Oak Restaurant in Conway. Mrs. Bass was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Luther-Campbell and a son, John Larry Bass
Surviving are one daughter, Paula Massey and husband Berns of Conway; seven grandchildren, Karen Wilson (Bob), Kenneth Luther (Alicia), Gretchen Bass, Christian Massey (Lisa), Johnathan Bass (Stacey), Rachel Massey, and Michael Bass; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Ally Wilson, Lauren Wheeler, Lawson Luther, Gaines Luther, and Alex Luther; one brother, John B. Rhodes, Jr. of Cary, NC; seven sisters, Estalene Barnes of Lumberton, NC, Betty Ivey of Proctorville, NC, Bernice Bullock of Lumberton, NC, Lavice Lee of Fairmont, NC, Rosa Phillips of Lumberton, NC, Patsy Bullock of Orrum, NC, and Ann Grice of Lumberton, NC; and a special relative, Sid Bass.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Hillcrest Mausoleum with Rev. Bob Guffey officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
