Christopher A. Bessette
Westerly - Christopher A. Bessette, 45, of Westerly, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, in Westerly. He was the son of the late Edward and Harriett (Miller) Bessette. Prior to moving to Westerly, Chris was a lifelong resident of Stonington.
He is survived by his four siblings, Paul Bessette and his partner, Alison Treanor of San Rafael, Calif., Theresa Bessette of Westerly, Michael Bessette Rochette of Canyon, Calif., and Stephen Bessette and his wife, Heather, of Mystic; several nieces and nephews.
Chris was a 1987 graduate of Stonington High School. He was an avid sports fan and baseball was his passion. He was a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees, the San Francisco Giants, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He knew and would tell you anything about any game played. Chris was admired by many for his kindness, compassion, and sense of humor; always trying to help others and bringing a smile wherever he went.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, in Mystic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at St. Mary Church, 95 Main St., Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WARM Center, 56 Spruce St., Westerly, RI 02891 or to the PNC, 27 Chase St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379.
The Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic, has charge of arrangements.
