  Notes	Springfield Union, March 2, 1975 Roland L. Bassett Roland L. Bassett, 56, of 21 Pioneer Way, Springfield, died Friday in a local nursing home. Born in Ludlow, he lived in Houston, Texas, before coming to Springfield 15 years ago. He worked eight years as a foreman for Sherwood Wood Products Co., Westfield. A captain in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II, he served as navigator with the Air Transport Command in the Southwest Pacific. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ellen (Dooley) Bassett of Houston, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Corinne Bassett of Indian Orchard; two sons, Roland Jr. and James, both of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Janice Howland, Carol, Nancy, and Linda Bassett, all of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Bernadette Bartlett of West Springfield; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at Ratell funeral home, Indian Orchard, with services in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Springfield. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield.
