Born at Newbold, Chesterfield, and a resident of the area most of his life, he worked as a control room operative at Bolsover Colliery. He retired aged 49 and moved to Allington aged 62. A family man, he loved holidays and his motor home and enjoyed the many shopping channels on television. He leaves widow Dorothy, son Chris, daughter-in-law Helen, grandchildren Emma and Charlotte, sisters Brenda, Jean and Christine and extended family. The funeral has taken place.
