Gary was born August 8, 1954, in Brunswick, Maine, to the late Cecil Bassett and Frances Hyer. He grew up with several brothers and two sisters. Gary did a lot of different jobs in his lifetime. He was also a traveler. He didn't like to stay in one place for too long. He is survived by two children, Joshua Bassett, and Tasha (Corey) Gant; and a granddaughter, Paisley Gant. His granddaughter was the joy of his life; he was a very proud "Pops". By his request there will not be a funeral or celebration of life. He will be placed by an infant son, Gary Michael McCombs Bassett at a later date.
