Theresa M. Bessette
BURLINGTON - Theresa M. Bessette, 76, of Burlington died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in
Burlington surrounded by her loving family. Theresa was born in Napierville,
Quebec on Oct. 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Gagnon)
Circe, and was educated in St. Jean, Quebec. She was married on July 11,
1945, in Fort Devens, Mass. to Gilbert A. Bessette who predeceased her on
Sept. 9, 1998. Theresa Bessette was a unique woman who proudly raised 10
children and was the positive force behind her husband and business partner,
Gilbert. Their contracting business flourished under expert guidance.
Theresa's compassionate nature was born of her deeprooted spirituality. Her
nurturing spirit was demonstrated in many ways. She was a wonderful hostess
to family and friends alike. Her home was open to everyone. Many times her
family would bring an extra mouth to an already overflowing table. Theresa
was an avid reader whose knowledge of holistic care was a blessing to all
those she taught or touched. Mother was an awesome force in all of our lives
who always had our best interest at heart. To Mother, hearts, not bodies,
were important, "right, wrong or indifferent." Her love of our babies
brought her comfort and peace. Mother's engaging personality made friends
out of strangers. Our mother will be dearly missed by her loving family as
well as all who have had the privilege of knowing her. At this time, our
family would like to express our heartfelt thanks for all the supportive
prayers and masses that have been offered on the behalf of our mother,
Theresa Bessette. Theresa is survived by her son, Robert J. Bessette;
daughters, Louise L. Zdiuch and husband Michael, Marie Walbridge and husband
Eric, Claudette Sears, June Bugbee and husband Robert Bugbee Jr., Suzette
Bessette, JoeAnn Bessette and Gail Cameron and husband Donald; son Gilbert

Bessette; two grandchildren, Melissa Walbridge and Matthew Bugbee; and
