      Glenn Ray Bright, Sr., departed this earthly life on Tuesday, 26 January 2016, in Kissimmee, Florida. He was born 12 March 1937 in St. Albans, Kanawha, West Virginia the oldest son of Thomas Edgar and Violet (Ellis) Wills Bright. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Marjorie; son Thomas Leslie Bright (Mary) of St. Cloud; daughter-in-law Bonnie Bright of Mesa, AZ; five grandchildren; Travis (Alison) Bright of Portland, OR, Kimberly Bright Poulter (Donovan) of San Tan Valley, AZ; Jessica Bright of Mesa; Jacob & Makaylen Bright of St. Cloud; Kristin Velsor Lowder of Orlando; Michael Velsor (Michelle) of Jacksonville, FL and Lauren Velsor Zern (Aric) of College Station, TX; eight great grandchildren: Bode, Trey, and Claire Bright of Portland, OR, Jarrett Poulter of San Tan Valley; Madison, Autym and Joycelyn Lowder of Orlando, Silas Zern of College Station, TX and one brother Eugene Bright of Biloxi, MS. Glenn was preceded in death by his eldest son, Glenn Ray Bright, Jr. of Mesa; His parents, sisters: Ruth Wills Stevens Atkinson of Cocoa, FL; Mary Bright Fancher Meeks of Amarillo, TX; brothers, James R. Bright of Laurel, MS; Russell Bright of St. Albans, WV; Acie Bright of Chesapeake, WV and Jessie Bright of Hurricane, WV.
      As a teenager, Glenn worked at the Triple E. Ranch East of St. Cloud, now the site of Harmony. Glenn met his future wife, Marjorie at St. Cloud High School when it was on Tenth Street. Her parents were Leslie and Sally (Durham) Bass whose families were Osceola County pioneers. Later he joined the United States Marines. After discharge he and Marjorie returned to St. Cloud and began their family. While employed by Florida-Georgia Tractor Company in Orlando, Glenn was approached by Hubbard Construction Company, who had the contract to clear the land for the development of Walt Disney World, to be the Supervisor over all the heavy equipment and operators. He saw the first load of fill dirt of what was to become Bear Lake. Glenn enjoyed seeing the growth of Disney World. As Osceola County's Emergency Manager and EMS, he was instrumental in getting the enhanced 911 emergency phone system for the county, making several trips to Tallahassee. He served three terms as a St. Cloud City Councilman. In 1985, Glenn opened a two-way Radio and Cellular Communications company that included 22 years under contract with the Greater Orlando Aviation Commission to furnish 900 MHZ trunking to tenants at the Orlando International Airport. In 2012 he went into retirement and changed his focus to his small vegetable garden and lovely flower plants in his yard. His greatest love in life was his family each of whom already miss his stories and laughter. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29th from 6 to 8 PM at the Fisk Funeral Home, 1107 Massachusetts Avenue, St. Cloud, and also from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, January 30th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 2821 Old Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud where services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kissimmee with full military honors provided courtesy of the Osceola County Veteran's Council. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Harry Anna Crippled Children's Home in Umatilla, Florida.
