Don Thibodeau
Don Thibodeau of Cedar Key died Saturday at his home after a long illness. He was 85.
Mr. Thibodeau was born in Milwaukee and moved to the Cedar Key area in 1984. He was a dairy farmer and an electrical contractor.
He attended the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and several campaign medals.
Mr. Thibodeau was a member of the American Legion, the 14th Armored Division Association and the Cedar Key Historical Society, where he was a longtime docemtn in the historical museum.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Chiefland, and enjoyed deer hunting in Wisconsin and sailing on the Great Lakes.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aurelia Barth.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Kate Bassett Thibodeau; daughters Mary Kay Bloom of Middleton, Wis., and Elizabeth Beg of Bayside, Wis.; sisters Kathleen Taylor of Milwaukee and Carol Koller of Coleman, Wis.; stepdaughters Lisa Bassett of Tallahassee and Susan Garcia of Palatka; stepsons Jonathan Bassett of Tampa, Jeffrey Bassett of Fort Lauderdal, Timothy Bassett of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Christopher Bassett of Palm Bay; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
