Evelyn Bassett, 98, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Howard K. Batson of First Baptist Church of Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Bassett was born June 24, 1906, in Paris to Arthur S. and Marian G. Keel. She moved to Amarillo as an infant and spent the remainder of her life there. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Slade Bassett, in 1963.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bassett and wife, Nancy, of Marble Falls; two daughters, Gwen Cooper and husband, Merle, of Grand Prarie and Pat Underwood of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79176-0001.
