William 'Bill' A. Bassett
William A. "Bill" Bassett, 82, Las Vegas, and formerly of Kokomo, passed away
on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in Chicago. Bill was born in Evansville and grew up
on a farm in Kokomo. He graduated from Kokomo High School. Bill retired to Las
Vegas, from the Cook County, Ill. Highway Department. He was a veter
World War II and a member of VFW Post 2024. Proud father of Robert and wife
Lois Bassett, and Patricia and husband Kenneth Booker; proud grandfather of
Christopher, Jessica, Rebecca and Elizabeth; and also surviving are his
daughter-in-law, Tricia Bassett. He was the devoted husband of the late Maida
(Harris) Bassett; and father of the late Michael Bassett. A celebration of his
life will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lincoln Memorial UCC, 6454 S. Champlain,
Chicago. Interment will be in Oak Woods Cemetery, 1035 E. 67st St., Chicago.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday before the services. The body will be
available to view from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S.

William A. "Bill" Bassett (82), devoted husband of the late Maida Bassett (nee
Harris); father of the late Michael (Tricia), Robert (Lois), and Patric
(Kenneth) Booker; proud grandfather of Christopher, Jessica, Elizabeth and
Rebecca passed away Aug. 31, 2007 in Chicago. Bill retired to Las Vegas, NV
from the Cook County, Illinois Highway Dept.; he was a veteran of WW II and
member of VFW Post 2024. Services will be held in Chicago on Fri., Sept. 7 at
Lincoln Memorial UCC, 6454 S. Champlain; visitation 10 a.m., funeral 11 a.m.,
interment following at Oak Woods Cemetery. Viewing on Thurs., Sept. 6 from 1-5
p.m. at Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S. Jeffery, Chicago, 773-721-8900. In lieu
