Charles Bass, Angleton, Texas

Charles Bass, Sr., 80, of Houston, Texas, formally of Rosharon, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Visitation will be 9:00am to 11:00am Saturday, February 14, 2021, at Bethelder Missionary Baptist Church, 6103 W. FM 1462, Rosharon, Texas; Followed by Funeral Services at 11:00am; Eulogist Rev. O. Palmer. On Tuesday, August 13, 1940, Johnnie Bass Sr. and Effie Tyler- Bass were blessed once again with the 11th of their 20 children, a baby boy Charles Bass affectionately known as "Charlie" by his family and all who knew him. Charlie was raised in Rosharon, Texas, he attended China Grove Elementary and Marshall High School. He joined Bethelder Baptist Church at an early age with his family. Charlie united in Holy Matrimony on October 24, 1964 to Willie Mae Burton his wife of 55 years until his passing. Charlie and Willie Mae moved to Houston, TX and started their life together. Their union was blessed with two children Cheryl Denise Bass and Charles Bass Jr. Charlie loved all of his family and was a devoted Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle and PaPa. Charlie was a hard worker and loyal employee at J.T Thorpe, in Houston, TX for 39 years until his retirement. Charlie had two favorite passions other than his wife and family, which were fishing and building things, ANYTHING. Although Charlie was blessed with 80 years we are heartbroken nonetheless and will cherish his memories forever. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings (6 brothers and 5 sisters). He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 55 years Willie Mae Bass; 2 children daughter Cheryl Denise Bass, son Charles Bass Jr. and daughter-in-law Carlisa Bass; 2 Grandsons aka "The Boys" Torrin Jarell Bass (Francine) Jordan Charles Bass (Deantia); 4 Great-Grandchildren Journei Denise Bass, Carter Alexander Bass, Jamir Prince Bass, Elijah Jarell Bass; 3 brothers Gregory, Lee and Frank ; 5 sisters Willie Mae, Mildred, Mary, Jean, Viola, and numerous nieces and nephews.
