Allen A. Bassett
Allen A. Bassett, 67, of Route 1, Fredonia, suffered a stroke at 4 p.m. Tuesday and died at 10 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Hospital at Port Washignton.
Born in Illinois on Feb. 12, 1888, he was married to Mary Jane Miller at Berwyn, Ill. in 1908. Since 1929 they operated a farm just outside Waubeka in the town of Fredonia. Mrs. Bassett died in 1954.
Survivors are a son Allen, of Burlington, Wis.; five daughters, Florence at home, Mrs. Frank (Edna) Krause of Saukville, Mrs. Paul (Margaret) Chadourne of Clinton, Iowa, Grace of Milwaukee, Mrs. James (Lucille) Rossio of Palm Springs, Cal,.; two brothers, Robert of Michigan and Leo of Chicago; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Rose) MacGowan of Missouri and Mrs. Herbert (Lillian) Suerth of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Little Kohler Catholic Church with Father Robert Bier of Fredonia officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Horn Funeral Home at Port Washington from Friday afternoon until the time of the services.
