Estell Wheeler Bassett (Picture included)

Estell Wheeler Bassett (Nen) was born on October 6, 1911 in Benton, Mississippi to the late Wilson Wheeler Sr. and Jane Gray Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her thirteen siblings.
Estell accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. On October 11, 1931, she united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Bentonia, Mississippi under the leadership of Reverend James Powell. On September 10, 1935, Estell eloped with Eddie Bassett, the son of James and
Mary Bassett of Bentonia, Mississippi. To this union, eleven children were born, consisting of six sons and five daughters. She was preceded in death by her sons Jimmy Bassett, Frank Bassett, Eddie Lee Bassett, and L.C. Bassett, and by daughters Mary Jane Rucker, Marie Williams, and Estell Kelly.
During her sojourn, here on Earth, Estell taught Sunday school at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Bentonia, Mississippi and participated in the NAACP. After relocating to Garland, Texas in 1990, she joined Sims Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and participated in the mission for a number of years. Later in 2004, she joined New Jerusalem Missionary
Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and was a faithful member and mother of the church ever since. Estell loved the Lord, continued in prayer and study of His word, always had a song on her heart, always ready to show hospitality to family and friends, and touched the hearts of countless many. She enjoyed baking biscuits, cookies, cakes, and pies for all to enjoy. Estell also travelled to many
places and experienced many different things.
On a Friday night, November 25, 2016, the Lord called Estell to her heavenly home. She leaves to cherish her life, love, and precious memories, her sons, Willie C. Bassett and Edward Charles Bassett (Gwen), her daughters, Bettie Devine and Katherine Miller (John), thirty of her grandchildren, Frizell Jr., Shirley, Bessie, Keith, Frank Jr., Eddie, Elaine, Dwight, Charlotte, Charles, Christopher, Paula, Duncan, Terina, Tianna, Chris, Damika, Tamika, Vicki, Yolanda, Edward Jr., Chereka, Camilla, Trevaughn, Radiah, Temarcus, Valencia, Lakara, J.R., and Bryan, one hundred and three great grandchildren, thirty nine great-great grandchildren, and a great host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and family friends.
