      Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. today, February 13, 2012, at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 316 Valley Avenue, Amarillo. Texas 79018 with Brother Tommy Ewing and Reverend Nancy Moore officiating. Visitation was Sunday February 12, 2012 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
      Robert was born March 7, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas, to P.H. and Anna Lou Bassett Norman. He graduated Amarillo High School in 1948. He married Reita V. Knox on August 21, 1949, in Amarillo at Tenth St. Methodist Church. Robert was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and the Homebuilders Sunday School Class since 1952.
      He was employed through the years at Morrow Thomas Hardware, part owner of G and N Marine and retired from S and B Stage Lines carrying U. S. Mail between Amarillo and Dallas. Robert loved camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, playing games and spending time with his family. He loved to talk and never met a stranger, but most of all he loved the LORD and served him all his days.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers
      Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Reita; five children, Darlene King and husband Murray of Bixby, Oklahoma; Debbie Melton and husband Jerry of Amarillo; Judy Jenkins and husband Billy of Alvarado; Lisa Francies of Amarillo; Robbie Norman and wife Julie of Amarillo; one brother, Edward Norman of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
