Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Bill wade of Polk Street United Methodist Church and Leland Huston of Canyon Hill Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Bassett was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. He was a truck driver for S&B Stage Lines Inc. of Amarillo, delivering mail from Amarillo to Dallas for 13 years. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Bassett married Vilma Espinoza in 1982 in Orange County, Calif. Survivors include his wife; a son, John E. Bassett of the home; a daughter, Denise Bassett of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister, Janelle Harrison of Wimberly; and a grandson. The family requests memorial be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1001 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, Texas.
