Dies At Telephone
F.M. Bassett Victim of Heart Failure
Had Just Told Brother of Wife's Removal to Hospital
SWAMPSCOTT, Sept. 9 - While standing at a telephone, just after informing his brother, Joseph Bassett, of the removal of his wife to a Boston hospital, Frank M. Bassett, 49 years old, of 8 Essex st, was stricken with heart failure today and died.
Mr. Bassett had been worrying for some time over the illness of his wife, who had been residing in Lynnfield, and yesterday she was removed to a hospital. Joseph Bassett knew nothing about the fact that his brother had been suddenly stricken with a fatal attack of heart failure, for the conversation between them had just been concluded when members of the family noted the condition of Mr. Bassett.
He was born in Marblehead, but had lived in Swampscott for a number of years. He was a member of Masonic bodies and of the Red men. He is survived by his wife and a son, Herbert M. Bassett.
