Bass Jr., 39, of Rt. 2, Oxford, the Olive Grove community, died Monday in Duke Hospital after several years of declining health. Bass was a native of Granville County. He was a former employee of Duke University Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Mack Timberlake Sr. The body was cremated Monday. Bass is survived by his mother, Mrs. Tessie Winston Bass of the home; three sisters, Md. Deborah Bass of Oxford, Mrs. Emogene Hayes of Los Angeles and Mrs. Janice King of Atlanta; and two brothers, Larry Bass and William Bass, both of Atlanta. The family will receive visitors at home of Mrs. Tessie Bass on Hancock Road. Arrangements are by Fisher & Wright Funeral Parlor.
