Dorothy Ruth Darlington Woodstown, N.J. Dorothy "Dot" Ruth Darlington (nee Robbins), 106, of Woodstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2019 at home in Absecon surrounded by her loving family. Dot was a resident of Salem County from her birth until she was widowed in 2002 when she moved to the home of her grand-daughter and grand-son-in-law at the shore in Atlantic County. Dot was born on the family farm near Yorktown, New Jersey, the 8th of 12 children to Harry Tallman and Jennie Bassett Robbins on December 24, 1912 (her mother's 36th birthday). She attended Woodstown High School. Dot was married to Warren Davis Darlington on July 29, 1936 for 66 years death. She had a great love for people and that love was always returned. Her priority; however, was her immediate and extended family. She cared for many family members over her lifetime, enjoyed family gatherings, cooking enormous meals, and "popping in" on family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and car trips. She learned to knit at the age of 65 and was well known for her afghans. Dot was predeceased by her husband Warren, both parents, and her 11 brothers and sisters, all of whom she missed tremendously. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ann Darlington Ward of Brigantine, NJ, her granddaughters, Dawn Mutchko (Greg) of Absecon, NJ and Holly Coughlin (Timothy) of Solana Beach, CA and her beloved great-grandchildren, Spencer Cason (Mi Jung), Shannon Coughlin, Madeline Coughlin, Gregory Mutchko, Jr. and Marlaina Mutchko. She also has many beloved and cherished nieces and nephews. At Dorothy's request there will be no visitation and her service will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by H.T. Layton Funeral Home, Woodstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy's name can be made to the Daretown Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Rd., Elmer, NJ, 08318.
