Joseph Leon Hyde Jr.
HYDE JR., JOSEPH LEON, went to be with his Lord on May 19, 2007. Joe was born to Anna Lee Bass Hyde and Joseph L. Hyde Jr. on January 18, 1930, in Kissimmee, Florida. He was the grandson of early Osceola County Florida pioneer families, Everett Bass and Bertha Sullivan Bass. Joe was a member of The Christian Church, being baptized as a young man in the Central Christian Church of Orlando, Florida. Joe grew up and attended schools in Osceola and Orange Counties. He was an accomplished Chef creating many wonderful original recipes. For many years he volunteered countless hours to AA, counseling and supporting those who were in need. In earlier days, before his illness restricted his ability, he loved to sing and dance. In the 1950's he sang at "The Rainbow Ranch", at the time, one of Orlando's popular nightclubs. He was also a member of "The Florida Cracker Horse Association." He was an accomplished horseman and loved his horses. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is preceded in death by his two sons, Richard Hyde and Gerald W. Hyde; his mother, Anna Lee Bass-Hyde Clemons; father, Joseph L. Hyde; grandparents, Everett and Bertha Sullivan Bass. He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary Lynn Redditt; Clermont; his wife, Frances Wilson Hyde; stepsons, William Wilson, Orlando, Robert Wilson, Dahlonega, GA; sisters, Sara Hyde Segrest, Geneva, Florida, Shirley Hyde Tipton, Archer, Florida; brother, Keith E. Hyde, Daytona Beach, Florida; grandsons, Robert Wilson Jr., Scott Wilson, Gerald Hyde Jr., Matthew Hyde; granddaughter, Samantha Redditt and many nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing will be held at Grissom Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23 from 11AM until time of service at Noon. Interment to follow at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kissimmee. Services entrusted to GRISSOM FUNERAL HOME, Kissimmee 407-847-3131.
