Brownie Byron Bass
Albany-Brownie Byron Bass, 60, of Albany, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Red Oak Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Story will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Tuesday morning beginning at 10 AM till the funeral hour.
Mr. Bass was born in Albany, and he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Dougherty High School in 1973, and then graduated from Albany Junior College with an associate degree in business. Mr. Bass began working at Sears in 1973, and retired as the operations manager in 2005. He began working at Proctor & Gamble in 2006 and worked until his death. Mr. Bass was a Charter Member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, and he moved his membership to Philema Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching UGA football, fishing, and golf. He cherished his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife: Murl A. Bass, Albany; 3 children: Lauren e. Bass, Hartwell, GA, Brian B. Bass, Andy Bass, both of Albany; 2 grandchildren: Clinton Bass and Jimmy Bass, both of Albany; sister: Diane McClranie and her husband John, Eufaula, AL; a niece: Angel Hopper and her husband Cory, Albany; a nephew: Carl Schmidt, Albany; aunt: Ila Bass Joines, Houston, TX.
