Will G. Bass Jr.
Resident of Oakland, CA. Will G. Bass, Jr., 69, much loved husband, father, brother, Grandfather and friend, died peacefully at home on July 19, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Through his courageous battle he never lost his humanity, kind soul, and the great wit that served to define him. Will had a special talent for understanding and working with others. People were naturally drawn to him because of his compassion and his insight into the community around him. Will was a long term Bay Area Business Man. He was the Treasurer of the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce and the past President of the 100 Black Business Men. His intellect and genuine passion for business was evident until the very end of his life. He always considered himself a blessed man because of his wonderful relationship with God, family and friends. Will G. Bass, Jr. will be missed dearly by all of us who were lucky enough to know and love him. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at The Allen Temple Baptist Church, 8501 International Boulevard, Oakland, CA. Viewing will be Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 7-8:00 p.m. at C. P. Bannon Mortuary, 6800 International Blvd. Oakland, CA.
